1979 Fender Statocaster #S943389, autographed by Eric Clapton

This guitar was a gift and it has tremendous sentimental value for me. It is a 1979 Stratocaster with a solid ash body, note the intense grain, and a clear finish. The pickguard is autographed by Eric Clapton and the guitar came with a certificate of authenticity for the autograph.

The pickups and tuners have been changed from the originals. I have restored the tuners to the old type but haven't done anything with the pickups yet. This is my only guitar with a maple fingerboard and my only hardtail Strat. It lives in a safe place and comes out from time to time to be properly appreciated. Note the wide headstock with the large black logo. This was a pretty popular guitar in the '70s.
