Custom Fender Stratocaster Guitar
This guitar comes about as close as I can get to my ideal Strat! The maple neck is from a 1993 Strat Plus and has a rosewood fretboard, roller nut and locking tuners. The neck shape, fretboard radius, fret finish, nut and tuners are just about perfect! But the original body/bridge combination wasn't right so this a Stewart McDonald '57 (note the fifties colors and the missing pickguard screw) with a Fender vintage bridge. The Fender Texas Special pickups are the same as those on the SRV strat. The electronics are American Standard and the pickguard is a late '60's type. If I could own only one guitar, this would be it. It doesn't even go out of tune when I travel! It is strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys (10-46) and the bridge is set up just like my SRV Strat.
